At the library, we connect families to needed resources as well as provide opportunities to learn new skills and meet new people. We are a portal to the world’s knowledge and people of all ages come here to practice lifelong learning!
WACL served 73,000 individuals last year, from toddlers and teens to seniors and folks looking for work.
Jo-Jo enjoyed the sensory input provided by a theraband as he sang the song “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” during one of our Sensory Storytimes.
Samantha, a first grader, was struggling to read but gained a lot of confidence reading to her buddy Callie, our visiting therapy dog. She was able to take her time, sound out words, and develop her skills without the fear of being judged or hurried.
Bill learned how to use Skype and can now correspond with his granddaughter while she is away at college.
And Charles took advantage of our job search programs to help update his resume to ensure it made it to the top of a potential employer’s pile.
