About Us
Our Mission:
To serve the community of Coraopolis PA, encouraging and assisting in renewal through community service and development projects, providing relief, resources and redevelopment.
The CCDF focuses its efforts on three specific areas:
Emergency Relief: Provides aid to individuals and families experiencing a crisis situation.
Community Resourcing: Equips members of the community with tools to improve their living situations.
Community Redevelopment: Creates partnerships with organizations to enhance the common life of Coraopolis.
The CCDF provides several programs for families in crisis in our local area, as well as general programs for residents needing assistance in the areas of education, employment, and language skills.
The Coraopolis Food Pantry is one of the benchmark programs run by the CCDF. We strive to create a grocery store atmosphere of wholesome family staple foods. This is augmented by our own Community Garden, which supplies fresh organic produce to the pantry.
The CCDF Garden is a member of Grow Pittsburgh, an urban agricultural program catering to Allegheny County. Not only does our garden bring together members of our community to develop gardening skills, but the produce grown in the garden goes directly to the CCDF Food Pantry to be used by local families in need.
Our first revitalization project is restoring a historic train station and turning it into a Community Center.
