Please join us on Thursday, May 14th at 1 pm ET / 10 am PT for a nationwide webinar on the importance of protecting voters' health with secure voting by mail and safe in-person voting — and how the business community can help make it happen. We'll learn how Ohio and Pennsylvania, both swing states, are expanding access to vote-by-mail systems and keeping voters safe in the 2020 Elections. We'll also discuss the popularity and effectiveness of mail-in ballot options across the country. We’re pleased to be joined by: Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose (R) Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar (D) Amber McReynolds, CEO of the National Vote at Home Institute Corley Kenna, Director, Global Communications & Public Relations at Patagonia American business leaders are calling for the expansion of vote-by-mail and early voting across the country to protect public health while also protecting the voices of our employees and communities on Election Day. ?Public health is essential, but so is civic health. If we take action now, we do not have to sacrifice one to achieve the other. We’re asking business leaders to sign Business for America’s letter urging Congress to fund safe voting. As business leaders, our responsibility is not just to our employees, shareholders, and customers — it is also to our country. During the call, we’ll also discuss how business leaders can do their part by educating their employees about vote-by-mail options and ensure they have time off to vote or to complete their mail-in ballots on November 3rd. We have no way of knowing whether the COVID-19 pandemic will have run its course by the time Election Day arrives. As such, we must take urgent action to prepare for a future where voting in person could be a risk to public health. Voting by mail is a smart way to securely make elections more accessible to voters — and it makes even more sense in light of the crisis. And early voting will facilitate social distancing where in-person polling is necessary.
