    Job Description
    ORGANIZATION: Allegheny Children’s Initiative
    DEPARTMENT: Family Based Mental Health
    POSITION: Family Based Therapist
    STATUS: Full Time; 40 hours / week
    SCHEDULE: Flexible; to meet the needs of the caseload
    LOCATION: Allegheny County; Currently using tele-health services to safely work from home during the pandemic
    SALARY / WAGES: $37,904 - $42,050 / DOE (salaried, exempt)

    Allegheny Children’s Initiative, a subsidiary of Partners For Quality Inc., is a non-profit organization that provides mental and behavioral health community-based services to children, adolescents and families throughout Allegheny County. Based in Pittsburgh’s South Side, we provide Psychological Evaluations, Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services, Service Coordination, Student Assistance, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and Family Based Mental Health programs. ACI has earned certification from the Council On Accreditation.
     
    The Family Based Therapist will be responsible for providing intensive home-based therapeutic interventions and support services in collaboration with a partner to families whose children and/or adolescents meet the criteria for a psychiatric (mental health) diagnosis and who are at risk for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization or other out-of-home placements. Duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Provide intensive family therapy, parent management, psycho-education and support services
    • Conduct individual and family therapy sessions, primarily in the home
    • Conduct a comprehensive Initial Assessment / Intake Evaluation of the consumer / family
    • Develop a Comprehensive Treatment Plan and a Crisis/Safety Plan in collaboration with the family
    • Coordinate and/or link families with formal services and supports
    • Maintain collateral contact and collaborative relationships with formal and informal agencies
    • Identify, develop and implement additional supportive services reimbursable via FBMHS FFS funds
    • Assist consumers in establishing relationships with other service providers
     
    QUALIFICATIONS
    1. Minimum of a Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field and minimum of two (2) years experience in a CASSP-oriented setting OR Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or related field in accordance with regulations and minimum of one (1) year experience in a CASSP-oriented setting
    2. Excellent clinical skills and familiarity with family systems / other therapeutic modalities and supportive and concrete services available to children and families
    3. PA licensure and/or certification by American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists preferred
    4. Sincerely interested in improving the lives of children with mental health diagnoses
    5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    6. Excellent computer skills
    7. Valid Driver’s License and full time use of a vehicle
    8. Act 33, 34 and FBI clearances
     
    SALARY
    $37,904 - $42,050 / DOE (salaried, exempt)
