    Job Description

    Under the limited supervision of the Director, Data & Analytics, responsible for building software using languages and technologies of the .NET framework. In addition, the incumbent will create applications, configure existing systems, provide user support, and manage cutting-edge technology development and deployments for Pittsburgh International and Allegheny County Airports.

    At the ACAA we all have a role in the ambitious transformation of becoming a smarter airport that will enhance the passenger experience and deliver on our mission of being a global aviation leader. Here is how the Cloud Engineer role will help:
     
    • Participate in requirements analysis by gathering specifications and creating user stories to define project deliverables.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture for components of ACAA’s data and analytics platform.
    • Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages.
    • Responsible for visualizing real and near-time data with the React JavaScript library.
    • Help develop Pipelines in Azure DevOps to test and deploy applications
    • Assist with DevOps by managing code repositories, branching, and version control via GIT.
    • Facilitate unit and system integration testing by writing test cases that ensure a high-level of quality assurance.
    • Routinely perform reviews of current programs and policies; submits recommendations for improvements or adjustments; conduct studies and surveys, perform research and prepares reports.
    • Revise, update, refactor and debug code for components of ACAA’s data and analytics platform.
    • Improve existing analytics applications by enhancing usability and load times.
    • Responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving frontend issues of applications connected to our data and analytics platform.
    • Improve performance and resiliency of existing data pipelines and integrations.
    • Participate in our data modernization process by migrating ETL data pipelines from legacy Microsoft SSIS to ELT with Microsoft Azure microservices.
    • Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
    • Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support.

    The successful candidate in the Cloud Engineer role will exhibit the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: 
    • Considerable knowledge of
      • Micro service pattern
      • Azure Functions
      • Azure Web Jobs
      • SQL Server
      • Cosmos DB
      • Azure Storage Tables
      • Unstructured Data (blob)
    • Experience with system-to-system integrations
    • Experience with integrating documents into a data lake (excel, csv, etc.)
    • Automating business processes
    • SAFe certified practitioner or other Agile certification
    • MSc in Computer Science or equivalent
    • Familiarity with ASP.NET framework, SQL server and backend systems
    • Familiarity with Restful APIs
    • Experience working in Agile frameworks
    • JavaScript experience is a plus
      • React
      • Node
     
    The minimum requirements needed to qualify for the Cloud Engineer role are:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university. 
    • 3-5 years’ experience with .NET frameworks
    • 2+ years’ experience building C# web applications
    • 2+ years’ experience using Entity Framework in C#
    • 2+ years’ experience building systems in Azure
    • Possess or obtain prior to employment a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license.  Note: license must be maintained throughout employment.
