    Job Description
    Job Purpose:
    To perform in a pleasant, professional and efficient manner, a combination of duties mainly related, but not limited, to check-in and check-out of guests which contributes to an overall positive experience. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK BOTH AM AND PM SHIFTS.

Our successful Hosts demonstrate attributes of a great Host by being aware and attentive to our guest's needs; in addition they create conversations and share a moment thereby making a real connection with our guests. They are true hosts, delivering purposeful service and delighting the guests. Your role will be interesting and varied, including duties such as host at Front Desk, waiter/ress duties in our coffee to cocktails bar, along with our 24/7 'Gallery Market' and Gallery Café. You are not a Waiter/ress, nor a Receptionist…you are a Gallery Host!

    Process guest check-ins and room assignments following the hotel's rate structures, discounts and sell/upsell strategies.
    Accommodate special requests when possible.
    Process check-in/check-out and collect payments in compliance with cash handling, credit card processing and accounting policies and procedures.
    Answer inquiries about hotel services, in-house events, directions, local attractions, etc.
    Assist guests with check cashing, safety boxes, additional guest room keys, transportation, etc.
    If necessary, walk guests in a professional and courteous manner and in compliance with policies, procedures and brand stands.
    Pre-register, block reservations and, as appropriate, take same day and future reservations. Cancel room reservations according to policies and procedures.
    Ensure release of any Company, hotel, brand and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices and regulations.
    On time and at work when scheduled and in proper uniform.
    Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
    Participate in task forces and committees as requested.
    Consistent professional and positive attitude and actions when communicating with guests and associates.
    Ensure maintenance problems are promptly reported through proper channels.
    Comply with all company policies and procedures.
    Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures.
    Write shift reports including reports on any incidents of theft, accidents or injuries when assigned.
    Check with manager/supervisor before leaving work area for any reason.
    On time and at work when scheduled, and in proper uniform.
    Attend department meetings as scheduled.
    Respond to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
    Report any incidents of guest dissatisfaction or other matters of significance to manager so that corrective measures may be taken.
    Any other tasks/duties as requested by management

    Job Skills:
    Speak clearly and listen carefully.
    Use personal judgment and specialized knowledge to give information to people. Communicate well with many different kinds of people.
    Change easily and frequently from one activity to another such as from typing to talking, to searching in a directory, to using a telephone.
    Use eyes, hands, and fingers accurately while operating a switchboard or computer keyboard.

    Job Qualifications:
    You will have worked in a customer service environment. Ideally retail or hospitality, however, any previous customer experience will be considered.
    An underlying passion for delivering quality service is essential.
    A gregarious personality with a can do attitude and an engaging demeanor is, also, a must to deliver in this role.
    With a good command of the English language to include verbal, reading and writing.
    Hosts should have good communication skills, should not be afraid to interact with guests, and willing to be trained on multiple skills.
    You will have the ability to learn quickly and work in a fast paced environment with constant guest interaction.
    No formal qualifications are necessary; however you should be computer literate.

    Education and Experience:
    High school education or equivalent experience.
    One to two years of customer contact experience.
    Guest service, basic accounting, and familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred Education HS Diploma or equivalent.
    Experience Minimum 3 months hospitality, general office, accounts receivable or customer service experience.
