  • Maintenance Mechanic (Temporary position)

    Job Description
    ORGANIZATION: Citizen Care Inc.
    DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
    POSITION: Maintenance Mechanic
    STATUS: Temporary Part Time; up to 25 hours / week
    SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday
    LOCATION: Within Allegheny County
    TRAVEL: Yes; within Allegheny County using company vehicle
     
    Citizen Care Inc., a subsidiary of Partners For Quality Inc., provides residential, day program, habilitation, supported employment opportunities and behavioral support services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are a non-profit organization, accredited by the Council on Quality & Leadership. Citizen Care has locations throughout the West Hills and South Hills of Allegheny County.
     
    The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for completing all maintenance related assignments that assure the safety and well being of staff and all individuals supported, at all locations operated by PFQ, Inc. and its subsidiaries.  All responsibilities shall be completed in a manner consistent with the Vision, Mission and Values of CCI.  Duties include but not limited to:
     
    Preventative and corrective maintenance of:
    •  Heating and cooling systems
    • Refrigeration
    • Fresh air and Exhaust air
    • Electrical system and devices
    • Emergency power unit - weekly checks
    • Fire alarm and detection system
    • Plumbing system and devices
    • Lighting system
    • Vehicles
    • Installation or removal of equipment
    • Snow removal and General building repairs; i.e., wall repairs and painting
     
    Additionally, will be responsible for:
    •  Assist with moving the people supported’s furniture and personal possessions
    • Assist with moving of office furniture including but not limited to desks, charis, cabinets, etc.
    • Assist in coordinating and recording the information pertinent to the continuity of a successful maintenance program
    • Assume responsibilities which support the attainment of personal outcomes for the people supported served as demonstrated by, but not limited to:
      • Maintaining facility in good repair to ensure a safe and orderly environment for people supported to learn, thrive and succeed
    • Displaying a professional attitude working with the people supported, staff, co-workers and family
    • Ensuring proper compliance of building, fire, and OSHA code and regulations
    • Maintaining all components of the Corporation
    • Other duties as may be assigned or required
    • Understanding of and compliance with all CCI Policies and Procedures
     
     QUALIFICATIONS
    • High School diploma or GED
    • Four (4) years experience in residential/commercial maintenance and proven experience in electrical, plumbing and general carpentry repairs
    • Must have a working knowledge to perform the duties noted above
    • Excellent references, both personal and work
    • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
    • Ability to lift heavy objects without restriction
    • Act 33 / 34 and FBI clearances required
