DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking a Structural Engineer II to join the Architectural Engineering team in our Pittsburgh (Moon Township), PA office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8-15 years of related design experience focused on design building structures. This position is open to a remote work arrangement. CANDIDATES MUST BE WILLING AND ABLE TO WORK DURING BUSINESS HOURS IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME.
- Perform structural engineering calculations and designs for buildings and other miscellaneous vertical structures to include retaining walls, seismic retrofit design, and building renovations
- Select and perform calculations for building gravity and lateral structural systems in accordance with local building codes in both the US and international locations
- Directs the preparation of construction drawings
- Lead or assist other engineers on projects and seal drawings under their creation or supervision
- Other duties as assigned
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering from an accredited university or college
- 8-15 years of experience designing building structures
- PE or SE certification
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Experience with DoD Unified Facilities Criteria is a plus
- Occasional travel may be required
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $72,640 - $151,334. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
