DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Architectural Services Group in our Moon Township office. The successful candidate will perform the planning, design and analysis of facility (building) HVAC and plumbing engineering projects.
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software such as Revit to perform engineering tasks
- Sketches and details drawings for completion by drafting personnel
- Develops and authors project specifications
- Researches code, design and detailed project specific requirements to ensure systems conform to engineering design and client specifications
- Reviews project instructions and requirements to provide possible redesign, substitution of materials, or rearrangement of systems for cost saving measures
- Plans and designs HVAC and plumbing systems
- Directs and coordinates activities involved in design
- Calculates design costs, responsible for project design budgets
- Determines the feasibility of projects related to execution of design and installation
- Communicates directly with clients and contractors
- Evaluates field installations, reviews compliance and recommends modifications
- Performs quality control checks for work performed by others
- Proposes methods for improving performance for development, standardization, and quality control
- Supervises and mentors junior personnel in the execution of projects
- Periodic to moderate travel
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering – Mechanical Option or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 9+ years of related experience in facility (building) design in the areas of aviation, commercial, industrial and government projects, or equivalent
- Professional Engineer license
- Detailed understanding of load and energy modeling calculations
- Detailed understanding of ASHRAE standards and IBC codes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Professional levels written and oral communication skills
Preferred Requirements:
- Detailed understanding of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
- LEED certification
- GBI Certification
- Proficiency with Revit
- 10-15 years of related experience
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $89,067 - $204,096. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
